Panning Out

In answer to a commenter from yesterdays post, yes, we live in a secure building and have caller ID.  At least our building is as secure as it can be with people propping the doors open and letting strangers in, but we leave our apartment doors locked and have 911 on speed dial.  Were not worried and dont live life as scared bunny rabbits, but we are concerned and do live cautiously.  Thank you for looking out for us, though!  Smooches!

The service dog people are coming tomorrow at 9am to interview Bob.  Whoot!  Hopefully when we get back we will have a letter informing us that we have been approved and have a dog picked out.  That is our biggest hope.  This is a long process, though in the end it will be worth it.

In bouncing about the internet, I learned that Kissimmee, where our timeshare is, has a downtown hot zone with free wifi!  This is good news to lil ole me.  I am bringing my laptop so I can do my schoolwork, but also so Bob can entertain himself with his eBay business when he cant sleep at night.  So, score!  I also found out that while the temps will be in the mid 60s Saturday-Monday, they are expected to be back up near 80 on Tuesday AND there is a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral that day.  The rocket they are launching is the first of its kind ever to go to Pluto.  Its supposed to be launched between 1:30 and 3:30 that day and its supposed to be a beautiful day! So, we will go see that.  Instead of hanging out at the pier at Cocoa Beach, we may instead go to Port Canaveral and hang out at Jetty Park.  I will fly that by Bob and see what he says.  It kind of depends on the day and what time we get out there.

Its supposed to rain with thunderstorms on Wednesday.  Im not sure what we are going to do in that case (other than THAT).  Bob talked about staying in and watching the storm. Ummm, not my idea of great fun, but it also depends on what Ive accomplished homework-wise and whatnot. That might be a good day to stay in and just relax a bit.  I did see that Orlando has a science museum with a planetarium and an omni theater and that might be fun. Its not too pricey either.  If any of you know of any fun stuff to do in, near, or around Orlando during a rain/thunder storm, leave me a comment with a suggestion.  Thanks!

I know its the end of the week, but its De-Lurking week for all you blog readers.  Please stop your lurking and leave me a comment.  Let me know who you are and where you are from.  It will be great fun to meet you!  Oh, along those lines, if you are a wonder with design and HTML, could I ask you a favor?  I would like a build (or have built) a fundraising measurement to track the progress we are making in raising funds for Bobs van.  Please leave me a comment if you would like to help me do this.  Thanks!  I think the word is so far, we have raised almost a third and we havent even had the walk yet!  That is encouraging.

Only two more sleeps until we leave and we cannot wait.  Tomorrow will probably not be my best or most productive day at work as I will probably be very ADD and antsy. We are having a gal I work with stay at our place while we are gone.  She lives here with a friend during the work week but lives at home about 90 miles away on the weekends.  On the weekends we are away, we are having our neighbor stop in to feed the cats and fish.  So we are covered and everyone is happy!  My co-worker wont have to sleep on the floor for a week and we have someone living in our place.

Don’t forget to leave a comment!

Hello! Just popping to say that service dogs are awesome. A friend of mine had one, and it could do all sorts of things, but it turned out its primary function was to love, and that was just great. :-) Best of luck on the service dog acquisition!

What to do on a day of thunderstorms in Florida? Snuggling under the covers comes to mind.

Hi! I'm not quite a lurker, but not a very frequent commenter either. :-) My name's Dawn, and I'm from Pennsylvania, near Philly. I've been reading you pretty much since the beginning, and you've become one of my favorite diaries/blogs/journals. Hope you have a great time in Florida, it's one of my favorite places!!!

How about doing your homework then finding a "good" movie somewhere? Or are you into museums? Would there be some of those in the area?
Snuggling under the covers sounds kind of fun as well. I'm sure you will think of something! Me--I'd go shopping! In the meantime I'll just be de-lurking. Have a fun vacation.

Just me saying HI! I hope you kids have a wonderful trip to Florida this time!

What good news about the funds for your van! I haven't even sent in my check yet! I will - I promise!

Bob's "friend" sounds a bit off his meds. Perhaps he'll be fine once he gets back on them. I'd give him some cash for his card so I could get rid of him if I were you.
